I made the vortex cone and then started to fill the void that would be under the cone with concrete, but decided that was going to be way too heavy. I dumped the concrete into the pit to fill in one end of it and then cut some plywood to form up the sides of the channel. I also made the support for inside the skippy out of 1/2" PVC.

03_cone_done Here it is, 4 hours of work :p I measured the bottom of the barrel instead of where the top of the cone would be, which was a different by over an inch. To fix it, I cut an extra piece to make the difference and spent a lot of time putting the cone in and pulling out of the barrel to get the fit correct. The duct tape handles were much appreciated for putting in/pulling out. I used duct tape to temporarily hold the extra piece before finally riveting it in place.
